The service
We create a personalized two-character Chinese given name and an English reading based on the details you enter.
- Free reading: your primary name and a short reading.
- Full reading (paid): the complete reading and two alternative names.
Readings are digital content. They are created when you request them and delivered on screen. You will also receive a private link that lets you open the reading again for 6 months.
Readings are for cultural education and entertainment. Our About our readings page explains what readings are and are not. It forms part of these terms.
Who can use it
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- To buy a full reading, you must be able to make a purchase in your country, or have permission from a parent or guardian.
- If you enter another person's details, you must have their agreement.
Prices and payment
- Full readings are sold by our reseller and merchant of record, Dodo Payments. Dodo Payments processes your payment and handles applicable taxes, and its terms apply to the purchase.
- The price, including any tax, is shown at checkout before you pay.
- Prices may change, including during launch offers and price tests. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay.
Refunds
Our Refund Policy explains when we refund a purchase. Before you pay, you agree that the full reading is delivered immediately and you acknowledge that you lose any right of withdrawal once delivery begins. This does not affect your other rights under consumer law.
Fair use
Please do not:
- use automated tools to submit the form, collect readings or get around usage limits;
- interfere with the site or its security;
- enter details you are not entitled to share;
- use the service to harass or harm anyone.
We may limit or suspend access to protect the service.
Your reading and your name
- You may use your reading and your Chinese name freely for personal purposes, including sharing them.
- Names themselves cannot be owned, and we claim no ownership of the name you receive.
- The site's design, text, glossary and other content belong to us. Except for your own reading, please do not copy them for commercial use.
Before using your name for a tattoo, legal document, business or brand, please ask a fluent Chinese speaker to review it. We do not check names against trademarks or official naming rules.
Availability and changes
- We work to keep the site available and accurate, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service.
- We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service, readings you bought will remain available through your link for at least 30 days, or until the end of their 6-month period if that comes sooner.
Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided "as is". Readings are interpretations of a cultural tradition, written with AI assistance. We do not promise that a reading is accurate or suitable for any purpose.
To the extent the law allows:
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss;
- we are not liable for decisions you make based on a reading;
- our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
Governing law

Changes to these terms
We may update these terms and will change the effective date above. Changes do not affect purchases made before them.
