We collect only what we need to create and deliver your Chinese name and reading. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising. We send you updates by email only if you ask for them.
What we collect
Details you enter in the form
- A name or alias of your choice. It does not need to be your real name. We use it only while your request is processed: we do not store it, and our AI provider does not receive it.
- Sex at birth
- Country and city of birth
- Birth date, local birth time and time zone
- Your email address, to send you your reading
- Whether you ticked the box asking for updates by email. If you did, we keep a record of that consent: the wording you agreed to and when.
When you buy a full reading Payment is handled by our reseller, Dodo Payments (see "Who we share it with"). We never see or store your card details. Dodo Payments tells us your order number, the product bought, the amount and the email address used at checkout. If you pay before receiving a free reading, because today's free readings are used up, we keep your birth details, and your email address if you gave one, encrypted for at most 24 hours, until your payment is confirmed and your reading is written. Then we delete them.
When you use the site
- To limit automated abuse, we keep one-way hashed versions of your IP address and of a random browser code for about 24 hours. We cannot turn them back into the original values. The browser code is a random value saved in your browser's local storage. It contains nothing about you, and clearing this site's data removes it.
- Our bot-protection provider, Cloudflare Turnstile, checks your browser on the page with the form, so that the check is ready when you submit it.
- We use no advertising or analytics cookies.

Country and city are not stored with your reading.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that run the site, and only what each one needs:
- DeepSeek (China) writes your reading with AI. It receives your sex at birth and chart information calculated from your birth date, time and time zone. This chart information may include those birth details. DeepSeek does not receive the name or alias you entered, your email address, city or payment details. It processes this information under its own terms and privacy policy.
- Dodo Payments (merchant of record) sells the full reading to you and processes payment. Its own terms and privacy policy apply to checkout.
- Supabase (United States) stores saved readings in encrypted form.
- Render (United States) hosts the website and its server.
- Cloudflare (United States, with global servers) delivers the site and provides bot protection.
- Google Fonts (United States) supplies the typefaces the site uses. Your browser loads them directly from Google, which receives your IP address and basic browser details. Google receives nothing you enter in the form.
- Resend (United States) sends our emails: your reading with its private link, and updates if you asked for them.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
International transfers
These providers are located in, or may process information in, the United States, China and other countries. Those countries may not offer the same level of data protection as yours. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses where a provider offers them, or on the transfer being necessary to provide the reading you request.
How long we keep it
- Readings and the information needed to show them again: 6 months from creation, then automatically deleted. A full reading extends the period for that person's saved reading to 6 months from its own creation.
- Email address linked to a reading: for the same 6 months.
- Consent to updates: while you stay subscribed. When you unsubscribe, we keep a record that you did, so that we do not email you updates again.
- Hashed IP addresses and browser codes: about 24 hours, then automatically deleted.
- Birth details held for a payment made before a free reading: at most 24 hours, then automatically deleted.
- Purchase records: Dodo Payments keeps them for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Operational logs: kept for short periods. They contain no birth details, names or reading text.
How we protect it
- Connections to the site are encrypted.
- Saved readings are encrypted with a key held only by our server.
- Saved readings are looked up with a one-way code derived from your details, so the database does not contain your birth details in readable form.
- Access is limited to what is needed to run the service.
Recognizing a returning reader
A reading belongs to a birth moment. When the same sex at birth, birth date, birth time and time zone are entered again, under any name or alias, we show the reading already created for them instead of creating a new one. We do this with the one-way code described above.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the information we hold about you;
- correct it;
- delete it;
- restrict or object to its use;
- receive a copy in a portable form;
- withdraw consent where we rely on consent. To stop updates, use the unsubscribe link in any update email.
To use any of these rights, email [email protected] from the address you used. We may ask you to confirm that you control that address, and we will reply within one month. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
California residents: we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Children
The service is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has used the service, contact us and we will delete the information.
Entering someone else's details
If you create a reading for another person, please make sure they agree to your entering their details.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above. If a change is significant, we will also show a notice on the site.
